Is it cheating if I took a break from reading The Lord of the Rings and read Fahrenheit 451?

No way man. I always read 3 at a time. Especially if one book is over 600 pages and overly intense--and that is basically all books over 600 pages.
Amen to TK's opination. I have finished at least three books this summer while plodding through Jane Eyre. You ain't gotta worry about a GPA; read what you wish when you wish.
It's me, Karen, aka Anonymous. I would much rather read F 451 anyway. How can one keep all the characters straight in Lord of the Rings? Plus theres so much war in it! F 451 is the better book, in my opinion.
I just counted. I have 9 books by the side of my bed and three on the night stand. Admitedly a few are a little dusty but I can honestly say I am working my way through all of them. Some are fiction (but nothing that holds my interest as a page turner) and most are non-fiction. Its the only way to have a fighting chance to read all there is to read in this world!!
